Our Commitment
At Medical Center Eye Clinic, we believe every patient deserves to feel welcome, comfortable, and cared for—both in our clinic and on our website. Accessibility is part of our values and our promise to provide excellent eye care to all members of our community. Whether online or in person, we are committed to removing barriers and ensuring equal access to our services.
Compliance Status
Our website is designed to meet WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA guidelines, and we continually review and improve the user experience for everyone.
In-Clinic Accessibility
- Wheelchair-accessible entrances, restrooms, and exam rooms.
- Assistance available for patients with mobility needs.
- Large-print forms and patient materials upon request.
- Staff trained to support patients with vision, hearing, or cognitive needs.
- Interpreter services available with advance notice.
What We’re Doing Online
- Semantic HTML, clear heading structure, and descriptive links.
- Text alternatives for non-text content and captions where applicable.
- Sufficient color contrast and scalable text.
- Accessible forms with labels, instructions, and error feedback.
- Keyboard operability and visible focus states.
- Testing with assistive technologies and automated checks.
- Content reviews before publishing updates.
Screen Reader & Keyboard
Pages are structured with landmarks, headings, lists, and labels. ARIA is used only where needed to supplement semantics. All interactive elements are operable by keyboard (Tab/Shift+Tab, Enter/Space, and Esc for closing dialogs). Focus is managed within dialogs and menus to prevent focus loss.
Profiles & Personal Adjustments
Where available, visitors may increase text size, adjust contrast, reduce motion, and highlight links. If you require a specific accommodation or an accessible format, contact us and we will assist.
Compatible Technologies
Our site is designed to work with current versions of major browsers and assistive technologies (e.g., Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari; NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver). Older software or unsupported extensions may affect your experience.
Limitations & Known Issues
Some content may not yet be fully accessible. We are actively reviewing and improving these areas. If you discover a barrier, please tell us so we can address it promptly.
