Why schedule an eye exam?
Routine eye exams do more than update your glasses or contact lens prescription—they help detect eye diseases early (like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy) and can reveal signs of systemic health conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. Our doctors evaluate your vision, eye teaming, ocular surface, and internal eye health to support clear, comfortable sight.
What to expect at your visit
Your visit usually includes a review of your medical/vision history, vision testing (refraction), eye pressure check, and a thorough health evaluation with dilation or advanced imaging as recommended. If you use a computer often or experience eye strain, let us know—this helps tailor recommendations for your daily visual demands.
A full evaluation of your vision and eye health, including refraction for glasses, screening for cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal conditions, and discussion of your visual needs (work, hobbies, night driving).
Child-friendly testing focused on healthy visual development, screening for amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (eye turn), and tracking/focusing issues that may impact learning.
If you wear or want contacts, we’ll perform additional measurements and a customized fitting. Options include daily disposables, toric lenses for astigmatism, and multifocals for near focus needs.
Annual dilated exam and retinal imaging to monitor for diabetic retinopathy and coordinate care with your primary or endocrinology provider.
Risk assessment, pressure measurement, optic nerve evaluation, visual field testing, and OCT imaging as needed to detect and manage glaucoma.
